Job summary

Mott MacDonald in Melbourne is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Buildings team. You will lead electrical design across large building and infrastructure projects, guiding junior engineers and coordinating with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

Applicants should hold an Electrical Engineering degree, be Chartered or on pathway, and have strong experience with NCC/AS/NZS 3000 standards, Revit/BIM, and PowerCad. We offer a diverse, inclusive environment and flexible work options.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered Engineer status (CPEng) or demonstrable pathway towards chartership preferred.
• Significant experience in electrical building services design within a consulting environment.
• Experience delivering complex projects across sectors such as aviation, health, education, commercial, life sciences or major infrastructure-related buildings.
• Strong understanding of NCC, AS/NZS 3000 and relevant Australian Standards, with experience in LV distribution, protection, earthing, generators, UPS systems and lighting.
• Experience with Revit/BIM-enabled design delivery and electrical engineering analysis tools such as PowerCad, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Engineer responsible for electrical building services systems, including LV power distribution, lighting, earthing and bonding, generators, UPS systems, protection systems and associated electrical infrastructure.
• Lead electrical design packages from concept through detailed design and construction support.
• Provide technical advice on electrical engineering, design and assurance matters, considering safety, compliance, constructability, operation and maintenance.
• Identify continuous improvements in electrical design approaches, technical standards, specifications and delivery processes.
• Manage project deliverables to agreed programme, budget and quality requirements, including technical checking of calculations, equipment selections, drawings and schedules.
• Act as the primary electrical engineering interface with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary project stakeholders, while providing technical guidance and support to junior engineers.
