Job summary

Randstad in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to coordinate and administer electrical building services for a range of building types. You will interpret designs for project execution and contribute to improvements on existing systems.

You will design power, lighting, communications, security, and fire detection systems, collaborate with architects and clients, and attend site meetings to ensure projects meet plans and specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• CPEng/NER or working towards registration.
• Minimum 5 years’ Australian engineering consultancy experience.
• Proficient in Revit MEP and electrical calculation software (PowerCad, AGi32).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

About the Role

As an Electrical Engineer, you will coordinate and administer electrical engineering activities to ensure that projects are implemented in accordance with plans, designs, and specifications. You will interpret designs for project execution, contribute to improvements on existing systems, monitor progress for adherence to program, and attend site meetings.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Designing and documenting electrical building services, including power, lighting, communications, security, and fire detection systems for a range of building types.
• Collaborating with architects, clients, and fellow consultants to develop coordinated, efficient, and sustainable designs.
• Preparing detailed technical specifications, load calculations, and engineering reports.
• Attending project and client meetings, representing the consultancy with professionalism and confidence.

Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer status (CPEng/NER) or actively working towards registration.
• Passionate about electrical engineering and building services design.
• Minimum 5 years’ Australian engineering consultancy experience.
• Proficient in Revit MEP and electrical calculation software (e.g., PowerCad, AGi32).
• Ability to build and maintain lasting client and team relationships.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
