Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Buildings Services team in Melbourne. Lead mechanical design packages across large buildings and infrastructure projects, coordinating with local and global design resources and providing hands-on technical governance.

You will apply NCC/Australian Standards knowledge, engage in BIM-enabled design using Revit, and contribute to innovative, sustainable project delivery in a collaborative, diverse environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered Engineer status (CPEng) or path towards chartership preferred.
• Experience in mechanical building services design within a consulting environment.
• Experience delivering complex projects across sectors and knowledge of NCC/Australian Standards.

Responsibilities

• Leading mechanical design packages from concept through detailed design and construction support.
• Making independent engineering decisions on complex technical issues and project challenges.
• Reviewing and approving calculations, specifications, schedules, reports and design documentation.
• Representing the business at client, design and construction coordination meetings.
• Coordinating local, interstate and global design resources to deliver efficient project outcomes.
• Undertaking site inspections, construction-phase services and technical issue resolution.
• Providing technical governance and peer review for mechanical engineering deliverables.
• Promoting innovation, sustainability and digital engineering practices in project delivery.
