Job summary

Specialised Engineering Technologies (SET) is a Newcastle-based engineering and construction company delivering infrastructure for mining, data centres and critical facilities. We are growing our major projects team and need an experienced EHS leader to ensure compliance and excellence on a large multi-building campus.

The ideal candidate will have a tertiary WHS qualification, 5+ years in construction EHS on major projects, and strong NSW WHS knowledge.

Qualifications

• Experience leading EHS on large construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of NSW WHS legislation and environmental compliance requirements.
• Auditing contractors and reviewing incident investigations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and audit head contractor compliance with client EHS standards, WHS Act 2011 and WHS Regulation 2017.
• Review contractor safety management plans, SWMS and critical risk controls.
• Oversee high-risk activities including electrical and HV works, work at heights, lifting, excavation and confined spaces.
• Review incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are closed out.
• Monitor environmental compliance including erosion and sediment control, noise, dust and water management.
• Support safety in design reviews and contractor prequalification.
• Prepare EHS performance reports and present to senior project stakeholders.
