Job summary

Eire Constructions is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead the SHEQ safety function across our civil projects in Sydney, Central Coast, Newcastle and the Mid North Coast. You will mentor a team of Safety Advisors, partner with project teams and drive practical safety improvements on site.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in a safety/WHS leadership role within civil construction or infrastructure.
• Experience leading and developing WHS professionals.
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and risk management.
• Proven experience managing significant incidents and investigations.
• Strong understanding of high‑risk construction activities and project delivery.
• Experience working with Project Managers, Engineers and senior leadership.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills; turn safety data into insights.
• Experience working across multiple projects and locations.
• Familiarity with OFSC requirements and Federal Safety Commissioner framework.
• Knowledge of ISO 45001.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Current NSW driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of Safety Advisors across multiple regions.
• Drive a strong, proactive safety culture across projects and teams.
• Provide practical safety leadership across high-risk civil construction activities.
• Act as escalation point for significant and complex safety matters.
• Lead triage, investigations and corrective actions for significant incidents.
• Support mobilisation and establishment of new projects with appropriate safety systems.
• Undertake site-based safety assurance and verify critical risk controls.
• Identify safety trends and translate into practical initiatives.
• Provide safety reporting and insights to CEO and Operations leadership.
• Lead safety initiatives aligned with business objectives and risk profile.
• Work with ISO 45001, OFSC and Integrated Management System alignment.
