Job summary

Canva is hiring a Senior Software Engineer in DevX to own critical backend infrastructure and developer‑facing products that empower engineers across Canva. You’ll tackle three domains: Backend Workflows, Automation Pipeline, and Build & Collaboration, improving Python/Java workflows, CI/CD, and monorepo tooling.

You’ll work in a hybrid setup, collaborating across teams, building self‑service platforms, and driving release safety and efficiency for large engineering orgs.

Qualifications

• Strong background in Platform Engineering, Developer Experience, or backend software engineering with hands‑on Python/Java.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end technical solutions and backend infrastructure projects across multiple systems.
• Build and improve developer-facing tools and automation to reduce repetitive work.
• Collaborate with backend, platform, and infra teams to gather requirements and translate them into scalable solutions.
• Develop monitoring, telemetry, and alerting to surface issues proactively.
