Job summary

REA Group is seeking a Senior Security Engineer in Detection & Response to modernise detection capabilities across the environment. You will operate data flows, telemetry integrations and detection workflows, applying detection-as-code and AI-assisted tooling to improve coverage and alert quality.

You will review threat intelligence, coordinate containment, and develop automation playbooks. This role involves close collaboration with Platform, Cloud and Engineering teams to ensure robust logging

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience configuring and operating data flows, including log forwarding, data transformation and observability pipelines.
• Practical cloud experience (AWS, GCP or Azure) and knowledge of logging and monitoring controls.

Responsibilities

• Configure and operate the data flows that support our detection platform, including log forwarding and cost optimisation.
• Define threats and behaviours to detect, review and tune high-fidelity detections and correlation logic.
• Develop and maintain automated detection testing and validation processes.
• Analyse security events and logs to identify malicious activity and emerging techniques.
• Investigate alerts and incidents, coordinate containment, and communicate risks to stakeholders.
• Develop playbooks and automation workflows for rapid incident response.
• Collaborate with product, platform and engineering teams to ensure logging and detection coverage.
