Job summary

REA Group is seeking a Senior Security Engineer in Detection & Response to modernise our detection capabilities. You will operate data flows, telemetry integrations and detection workflows powering the platform, using AI-assisted tooling to review high-fidelity detections and automate responses.

You’ll assess threat intel in REA’s environment and coordinate containment independently. You’ll work with a diverse team across Security and Engineering to improve coverage and resilience, while

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience configuring data flows including log forwarding and data transformation.
• Experience in cloud environments (AWS, GCP or Azure) and security telemetry.
• Ability to define threats and behaviours to detect and validate detections.
• Strong log analysis skills and scripting for automation.

Responsibilities

• Configure and operate data flows and log forwarding for the detection platform.
• Define and tune high-fidelity detections and correlation logic.
• Develop automated detection testing and validation processes.
• Investigate security events and coordinate containment and response.
• Develop playbooks and automation workflows for rapid response.
• Collaborate with product, platform and engineering teams on logging and coverage.
• Share knowledge and contribute to documentation and practices.
