Job summary

REA Group is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to advance our Detection & Response posture. You will own data flows, telemetry integrations, and detection workflows powering our security platform, applying AI-assisted tooling for high‑fidelity detections and automated responses.

You will evaluate threat intelligence in REA's environment, investigate investigations, and coordinate containment with cross-functional teams to continuously improve detection quality and resilience.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience configuring and operating data flows, including log forwarding, data transformation and integrations.
• Experience with cloud architectures and observability pipelines across AWS, GCP or Azure.
• Ability to translate threat intelligence into detection and response requirements.
• Proven incident containment and coordination across security and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Configure and operate data flows supporting the detection platform, including log forwarding and cost optimisation.
• Define threats to detect and tune high-fidelity detections and correlation logic.
• Develop automated detection testing and validation processes to identify drift and gaps.
• Investigate security events and logs to identify malicious activity and patterns.
• Assess threat intel and translate findings into improved detection coverage.
• Coordinate containment and response activities and communicate risks to stakeholders.
• Develop playbooks and automation to enable rapid incident containment.
• Collaborate with product, platform and engineering teams to ensure logging and monitoring are effective.
