Job summary

REA Group is seeking a Senior Security Engineer in Detection & Response to modernise our detection capability and data pipelines. You will operate telemetry integrations, review high-fidelity detections, and develop automation for rapid containment.

You’ll work with security and engineering teams to improve coverage and alert quality, leveraging AI-assisted tooling and threat intelligence to focus on relevant adversaries across our environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience configuring and operating data flows, including log forwarding and API integrations.
• Cloud environment experience (AWS/GCP/Azure) with logging and native security controls.
• Experience defining threats to detect and validating high-fidelity detections.
• Strong log analysis skills across diverse sources; scripting for automation.
• Familiarity with security observability tooling (EDR, SIEM, CNAPP, SOAR).
• Understanding MITRE ATT&CK and translating threat intel into coverage.
• DevOps familiarity with CI/CD and automated security tooling deployments.
• Ability to build automation workflows and document runbooks.

Responsibilities

• Configure and operate data flows for the detection platform.
• Define and tune high-fidelity detections and correlation logic.
• Develop automated detection testing and validation processes.
• Analyze security events and logs for malicious activity.
• Assess threat intel and update detection coverage accordingly.
• Investigate alerts and coordinate containment and response.
• Develop response playbooks and automation workflows.
• Collaborate with product/engineering for logging and monitoring coverage.
• Share knowledge and contribute to security documentation.
