Job summary

DRA Global in Perth, Western Australia, seeks a Lead Control Systems Engineer to provide expert leadership on instrumentation, PLC/DCS/SCADA systems and functional safety across mining and mineral processing projects. This is a full-time permanent role based at our Perth office.

You will lead design reviews, support commissioning, drive digital solutions, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with project teams and clients to deliver safe, reliable control system solutions.

Qualifications

Degree qualified in Electrical, Control Systems, Instrumentation, Mechatronics or related engineering discipline.
10+ years’ experience in control systems engineering across mining and mineral process plants.
Hands-on experience with PLC, DCS and SCADA platforms.
Ability to troubleshoot complex control system issues in operational and project environments.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership in control systems engineering across studies, projects and operations.
Lead development, review and approval of control systems designs per client specs and standards.
Oversee integration of control systems with process, electrical and mechanical disciplines.
Review and validate vendor/contractor deliverables for accuracy and quality.
Drive engineering excellence via peer reviews and digital solution adoption.
Mentor engineers within the control systems discipline.
