Job summary

Civmec Construction & Engineering is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to lead the commercial function on a recently secured project, driving outcomes through strong leadership, proactive client engagement and effective project delivery in a fast-paced environment.

This role offers flexibility for FIFO from Perth, WA or local base in Henderson, WA, with a focus on risk, contractual obligations and relationships with clients and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in law, quantity surveying, engineering, construction management or related discipline.
• At least 10 years' experience in senior commercial leadership on major construction, resources or heavy engineering projects.
• Proven experience leading, developing and managing commercial teams of five or more.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong commercial leadership across all project commercial and contractual functions.
• Lead head contract administration and compliance, including notices, claims and entitlement submissions.
• Drive commercial strategy, variations, EOTs and remeasurement claims to maximise entitlements.
• Manage supplier and subcontractor procurement and commercial administration.
• Provide practical contractual guidance to the project team for informed decision-making.
• Manage cashflow, progress claims and client payment cycles.
• Oversee cost control, forecasting, and commercial risk registers.
• Establish governance processes to identify and recover commercial actions throughout the lifecycle.
• Lead, mentor and develop the project commercial team to foster accountability and high performance.
