Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer with drainage design experience to join our Water Resources team in Rockhampton or Mackay, Australia. You will contribute to the design and delivery of civil projects across water management, drainage and stormwater infrastructure, working with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

You should bring a Civil Engineering degree, 5–15 years of experience, and proficiency with 12d/Civil 3D, GIS, and hydrology/hydraulics software.

Qualifications

• Degree and professional experience in civil engineering design and project delivery.
• Experience with drainage or stormwater design and hydrology/hydraulics principles.
• Proficiency with civil design software (12d, Civil 3D) and GIS tools (QGIS, ESRI).
• Familiarity with hydrological/hydraulic analysis software (DRAINS, MUSIC; RORB/URBS/XP-RAFTS/WBNM, TUFLOW).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver civil engineering solutions for water management projects.
• Develop drainage, stormwater and associated infrastructure designs.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations and specifications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to deliver practical solutions.
• Support design reviews, QA, and compliance with Australian standards.
• Liaise with stakeholders and provide technical guidance to project teams.
