Job summary

Norths Collective, a forward-thinking and not-for-profit group of venues, seeks a passionate chef to deliver high-quality dishes at The Alcott Lane Cove and associated clubs in NSW. You will cook, present and evolve menus in a fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen, manage stock, maintain cleanliness, and lead and train junior staff while upholding the highest safety standards.

The role requires flexibility for rotating rosters including days, nights, weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience working under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
• Experience upholding strict health and hygiene standards and WHS legislation.
• Experience in food quality control.
• Current NSW Basic Food Handlers certificate.
• Experience using digital platforms for ordering and record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the preparation, cooking and presentation of food.
• Assisting the Sous Chef where required.
• Maintaining proper portion and stock control to keep food costs down.
• Maintaining clean and orderly workspaces.
• Ensuring hygiene and food safety to club standards.
• Driving and supporting Work, Health and Safety compliance.
• Directing and supporting kitchen team members.
• Training junior kitchen staff through policies and training programs.
• Maintaining effective communication with key stakeholders.
