Alphapet in Victoria’s Mornington centre seeks a proactive Cattery Manager to lead daily operations of our cat-only boarding facility. You will oversee staff, ensure high welfare standards, manage bookings, and uphold hygiene and safety protocols, delivering outstanding client experiences.

Qualifications

• Diploma in relevant field or three years' work experience.
• Strong background in cattery management and pet care operations.
• Knowledge of animal welfare, hygiene and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with staff leadership experience.
• Customer-focused, able to manage bookings, enquiries and feedback professionally.
• Highly organized with strong time management and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the daily operations of the boarding cattery to ensure efficient and high-quality cat boarding services.
• Select, supervise, and train staff responsible for feeding, cleaning, and caring for boarded cats, ensuring consistent service standards.
• Monitor the health, wellbeing, and behaviour of cats in the facility and ensure appropriate care procedures are implemented.
• Supervise and coordinate staff handling customer bookings, enquiries, and check-in/check-out procedures to ensure efficient operations and a positive client experience.
• Establish and maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and safety within the cattery facility.
• Develop and implement operational procedures and staff routines to ensure smooth workflow and consistent service quality.
• Monitor inventory levels of cat food, litter, bedding, and other supplies, and coordinate purchasing when required.
• Oversee the management of customer feedback and service issues, ensuring timely resolution and continuous improvement in service quality.
• Ensure the cattery operates in compliance with relevant animal welfare regulations, workplace health and safety requirements, and company policies.
• Report operational performance to management and contribute to the continuous improvement of service quality and operational efficiency.
