Job summary

Latrobe City Council is seeking a Senior Project Officer - Building Projects in Morwell to lead delivery of capital works across community facilities and infrastructure. The role focuses on safe, efficient delivery and high standards for our growing community.

You will manage a diverse project portfolio, engage with internal and external stakeholders, consultants and contractors, and ensure projects deliver lasting community value in Gippsland.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Building and Construction or Civil Engineering.
• Trade qualification with substantial construction and project management experience.
• Current Victorian Driver Licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage building and construction projects from inception to completion.
• Coordinate consultants to develop concept and detailed designs for capital works projects.
• Assist internal departments with technical documentation to support funding applications.
• Administer and supervise construction contracts, ensuring compliance with policies and standards.
• Consult and collaborate with stakeholders, community groups, contractors, and external agencies.
• Monitor budgets, timelines and contractor performance to ensure high-quality, cost-effective outcomes.
