Job summary

BYD Australia & New Zealand is seeking a detailed and commercially minded Senior Contract Specialist to join our Energy Storage team in Sydney. The role focuses on review, negotiation, and management of commercial contracts for local BESS projects in Australia, working with Sales, Legal, Finance, Engineering, and Project Delivery to mitigate risks.

Ideal candidates will have legal/commercial background, experience with large-scale energy or infrastructure contracts, and fluency in English

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Commerce, Engineering or related discipline.
Experience in contract review, contract management or project commercial management.
Fluent in English; Mandarin is a plus.

Responsibilities

Contract Review & Commercial Risk Assessment.
Review customer contracts, supply agreements, purchase orders, amendments and other commercial agreements.
Prepare contract review comments, deviation lists, risk summaries, and internal approval materials.
Coordinate with Legal and relevant internal teams on legal or high-risk contractual matters.
Contract Lifecycle Management from initial review through negotiation and post-signature management.
