Job summary

Department of Justice and Community Safety, Victoria is seeking a Senior Aboriginal Workforce Advisor to coordinate initiatives under the Aboriginal Workforce Strategy and support Aboriginal employment and career development across the department.

Reporting to the Manager Aboriginal Workforce Unit, the role involves advising on Aboriginal employment, growing the Aboriginal Staff Network and presenting strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and understanding of the Victorian Aboriginal community, society and culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, implementation and evaluation of Aboriginal employment programs aligning with the strategy.
• Coordinate stakeholder engagement activities and events for the Aboriginal Staff Network and broader workforce.
• Monitor progress, identify risks and meet reporting obligations for funded projects.
