Job summary

Department of Justice and Community Safety VIC – Melbourne VIC is seeking a Senior Aboriginal Workforce Advisor – Projects and Programs within our Aboriginal Justice Group. This is an Aboriginal designated position, with eligibility restricted to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.

Reporting to the Manager Aboriginal Workforce Unit, you will coordinate initiatives under the Aboriginal Workforce Strategy, engage stakeholders, and support career development and inclusive employment

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of Victorian Aboriginal community, society and culture.
• Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal communities.
• Knowledge of attracting and retaining Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander employees.
• Experience in design/management of Aboriginal employment or community development initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of Aboriginal employment programs supporting the Aboriginal Workforce Strategy.
• Design, coordinate and deliver stakeholder engagement activities, communications and events for the Aboriginal Staff Network and broader departmental workforce.
• Coordinate delivery of Aboriginal employment programs and funded projects with governance, reporting and risk management.
