Job summary

State Government of Victoria is seeking a Senior Aboriginal Workforce Advisor – Projects and Programs within the Aboriginal Justice Group, Melbourne. The role supports the Aboriginal Workforce Strategy and related programs, with a focus on staff networks, community engagement, and governance.

Qualifications

• A demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Victorian Aboriginal community, society and culture, and the issues impacting upon it.
• A demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with members of the Victorian Aboriginal community.
• A demonstrated knowledge of supporting Aboriginal workforces, including the complexity of attracting and retaining Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander employees.
• Demonstrated experience in the design and/or management of Aboriginal employment or community development initiatives, or comparable experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of Aboriginal employment programs and initiatives that support the department's Aboriginal Workforce Strategy.
• Design, coordinate and deliver stakeholder engagement activities, communications and events for the Aboriginal Staff Network and the broader departmental workforce, ensuring alignment with the objectives of the Aboriginal Workforce Strategy.
• Coordinate the delivery of Aboriginal employment programs and funded projects in line with governance requirements, including monitoring progress, identifying and escalating risks, and meeting reporting obligations.
