Job summary

The Department of Justice is seeking a Senior Aboriginal Workforce Advisor within the Aboriginal Justice Group for a 12-month fixed-term, full-time role in Victoria. This priority position supports the Aboriginal Workforce Strategy and drives improvements in representation and career development for Aboriginal staff.

You will provide strategic advice on Aboriginal employment and cultural inclusion, represent the AWU at staff networks and community events, and contribute to the next phase of the

Qualifications

Knowledge of Victorian Aboriginal community, society and culture and related issues.
Ability to communicate sensitively with Aboriginal communities.
Experience supporting Aboriginal workforces and retention of Aboriginal employees.
Experience in designing or managing Aboriginal employment or community development initiatives.

Responsibilities

Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of Aboriginal employment programs and initiatives that support the department's Aboriginal Workforce Strategy.
Design, coordinate and deliver engagement activities, communications and events for the Aboriginal Staff Network and broader workforce.
Coordinate delivery of Aboriginal employment programs and funded projects with governance, monitor progress and report.
