Job summary

VIC Department of Justice and Community Safety – Melbourne VIC seeks a Senior Aboriginal Workforce Advisor to coordinate key initiatives under the Aboriginal Workforce Strategy and contribute to employment and career development goals under the Aboriginal Justice Agreement.

The role involves regular representation of the AWU to the Aboriginal Staff Network and community events, delivering strategic advice on Aboriginal employment and inclusion across the department.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of the Victorian Aboriginal community and culture.
• Ability to communicate sensitively with members of the Victorian Aboriginal community.
• Experience in Aboriginal employment or community development initiatives, or comparable experience.
• Ability to design and manage Aboriginal employment programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead Aboriginal employment programs aligned with the Aboriginal Workforce Strategy.
• Coordinate stakeholder engagement activities for the Aboriginal Staff Network and broader workforce.
• Oversee delivery of funded Aboriginal employment projects with governance, progress monitoring and reporting.
