Job summary

Certis Security Australia is seeking a Casual Security Officer for the Gold Coast Light Rail network. You will be a visible security presence, delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring a safe environment for commuters and staff.

Rotating shifts include weekdays, weekends, and public holidays, with overnight Friday/Saturday emphasis. Mandatory qualifications include a QLD Security Licence (Crowd Control & Unarmed), First Aid & CPR, and a valid Australian Driver Licence.

We are seeking professional Security Officers - Rail Safety Workers to support Queensland's public transport network across the Gold Coast Light Rail. About the Role

The Security Rail Safety team supporting the Gold Coast Light Rail plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, comfort and confidence of passengers travelling throughout the network.

As a Security Officer, you will be a visible presence across stations and light rail environments, delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining a safe and secure atmosphere for commuters, visitors and transport staff.

Employment Type: Casual

Location: Gold Coast Light Rail Network

Roster: Rotating shifts including weekdays, weekends and public holidays, with the majority of shifts being Friday and Saturday overnight shifts. Additional shifts may be available to support operational and event requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Primary duties include, but are not limited to:

• Providing a visible and professional security presence across the Gold Coast Light Rail network
• Delivering exceptional customer service and assisting passengers with enquiries and directions
• Maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming environment for commuters, visitors and stakeholders
• Monitoring and responding to security incidents in accordance with site procedures
• Managing and de-escalating challenging situations in a calm and professional manner
• Supporting crowd management and emergency response activities when required
• Completing incident reports and maintaining accurate records
• Ensuring compliance with all client, company and regulatory requirements

Mandatory Requirements

• Ability to obtain Rail Category 3 Medical Clearance
