Job summary

Certis Security Australia is seeking a friendly, professional security officer for a casual, customer-facing role in Cairns, QLD. You will greet visitors, monitor access, and maintain a safe environment while delivering excellent service in a public-facing setting.

Role is Monday to Friday day shifts with no nights or weekends. You will use strong communication and reporting skills, comply with site procedures, and support emergency procedures as required.

About the Role

The security team at this site plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, comfort and confidence of the community accessing government services.

As the first point of contact for visitors and staff, you will set the tone, delivering a welcoming, respectful and professional experience while maintaining strict adherence to site procedures and security protocols.

This is a highly customer-focused role requiring strong communication skills, sound judgement and the ability to confidently manage difficult or sensitive situations. You will be responsible for maintaining site security while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

This is a casual opportunity offering flexibility, with shifts primarily available Monday to Friday during business operating hours.

Key Responsibilities

Current QLD Security Licence (Unarmed and Crowd Control)
Current First Aid Certificate and CPR
