Job summary

The EQ Hotel in Perth, WA is seeking professional and experienced Security Officers to join our team ahead of the opening of Perth’s newest luxury hotel.

As a Security Officer, you will help create a safe, secure and welcoming environment for guests, visitors and colleagues across the hotel and associated facilities. You will conduct patrols, monitor CCTV, respond to incidents and assist with incident investigations.

Qualifications

• Experience as Security Officer in hotel/hospitality or similar environment.
• WA Security Officer Licence is essential.
• Current First Aid Certificate is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of hotel public areas, back-of-house areas and parking.
• Monitor CCTV, alarms and access-control systems.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies with professionalism and discretion.
• Liaise with Front Office and Engineering to maintain safety.
• Prepare incident reports and keep patrol logs up to date.

Security Officer, Pre-Opening Luxury Hotel

The EQ Hotel – Perth, WA

The EQ Hotel is seeking professional and experienced Security Officers to join our team ahead of the opening of Perth’s newest luxury hotel.

About the Role

As a Security Officer, you will help create a safe, secure and welcoming environment for guests, visitors and colleagues across the hotel and associated facilities.

You will conduct regular patrols, monitor security systems, respond to incidents and emergencies, and support the hotel team with professionalism and discretion. This role is highly visible and guest-focused, requiring sound judgement, excellent communication skills and a calm approach under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive working relationships with guests, team members, contractors and external stakeholders.
• Conduct regular patrols of hotel public areas, back-of-house areas, car parks and surrounding premises.
• Monitor CCTV, alarms, access-control systems and other security systems.
• Assist with crowd management during group arrivals and departures, events, functions, bars and restaurants.
• Support traffic flow, vehicle access, parking and valet areas as required.
• Check security alarms, emergency equipment and fire-safety equipment, and report any faults promptly.
• Manage access for guests, visitors and contractors in line with hotel procedures.
• Maintain accurate patrol logs, incident reports, handover notes and security records.
• Respond promptly and professionally to incidents, emergencies and guest concerns; liaise with emergency services where required.
• Assist with incident investigation, evidence gathering and report writing.
• Safeguard hotel property and assets, identify security risks and escalation concerns to the Security Manager.
• Work closely with Front Office, Engineering and operational teams to ensure a safe, secure and welcoming environment.
• Work a rotating 24/7 roster, including AM, PM, overnight, weekend and public-holiday shifts.

Skills and Experience

• Previous experience as a Security Officer in a hotel, hospitality venue, high-end residential building or similar environment.
• Current WA Security Officer Licence is essential.
• Current First Aid Certificate is highly regarded.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to remain calm, alert and professional in challenging situations.
• Sound judgement, attention to detail and ability to manage incidents discreetly.
• A current driver’s licence is highly regarded
