Job summary

Australian Christian College Group seeks a Secondary Learning Support Teacher (Full-Time) in Canberra. You will join the Learning Support Team to develop personalised plans for students with diverse needs and work with classroom teachers to differentiate instruction.

The role requires current NESA accreditation, an active Christian faith, and a commitment to implementing evidence-based learning strategies within a faith-based school community.

Qualifications

• Active Christian faith required.
• Qualified teacher with NESA accreditation or eligible.
• Knowledge of Learning Support or Special Provisions is desirable.
• Ability to improve student learning and wellbeing outcomes.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching per Australian Professional Standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and review Individualised Learning Plans for students with diverse needs.
• Identify students needing learning support via data, referrals and observation.
• Differentiate curriculum, assessment and teaching strategies with staff support.
• Advise on reasonable adjustments per Disability Standards for Education.
• Assist in data collection and reporting for NCCD and student progress.
• Communicate with parents regarding student progress and support strategies.
• Support students with assessment accommodations and exam provisions.
• Engage students individually or in small groups within mainstream classrooms.
• Pursue ongoing professional development in special education and enrichment.
• Support positive behaviours, self-regulation and emotional resilience.
