Job summary

Core Talent is seeking a motivated Transport Allocator to join a growing freight forwarding business focused on sea freight operations. You will coordinate transport movements, manage shipments between ports, depots, warehouses and customers, and liaise with multiple teams to ensure on-time, safe deliveries.

Ideal candidates will have experience in transport logistics, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport, logistics or freight forwarding.
• Understanding of sea freight operations and container transport.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure.
• High attention to detail and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
• Confident using computers and transport management systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate transport movements for import and export sea freight shipments.
• Arrange container pickups and deliveries between ports, depots and customer premises.
• Liaise with transport companies, shipping lines, customers and internal teams.
• Monitor shipment progress and proactively manage delays or operational issues.
• Coordinate container unpacking, empty returns and depot bookings.
• Ensure transport bookings, delivery orders and relevant documentation are accurate and up to date.
• Track container movements and ensure deadlines and delivery timeframes are met.
• Assist with resolving transport discrepancies and customer enquiries.
• Maintain accurate records and update internal transport and freight management systems.
• Ensure all transport activities comply with relevant safety, operational and regulatory requirements.
