Job summary

Nossal High School is seeking an ICT Support Technician to maintain and support the school’s ICT systems, accounts, devices and networks. The role works with the Systems Administrator to deliver day-to-day IT support across identity, endpoints, Microsoft 365, Azure applications, networking and cybersecurity.

Qualifications

• Solid working knowledge of Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID account administration at a user-support level.
• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration and Intune-managed endpoints.
• Basic understanding of local network fundamentals for first-line troubleshooting.
• Willingness to build broader knowledge of Azure application support, networking and cybersecurity practices.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate routine work with other support staff and gain cooperation from colleagues.
• Ability to follow documented procedures, exercising judgement about when to escalate.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Basic scripting familiarity (e.g. PowerShell) desirable but not essential.
• Sound understanding of cybersecurity, privacy and child-safety obligations in a school environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate routine day-to-day ICT support tasks with staff and DET Specialist Technician colleagues.
• Assist with onboarding/offboarding for staff and students.
• Support identity, directory and access management tasks (AD, Entra, MFA).
• Monitor and manage Microsoft 365 services and device compliance.
• Assist with Azure-hosted applications and server support under Systems Administrator guidance.
• Ensure cybersecurity practices and data privacy are followed in day-to-day work.
