J. Furphy & Sons in Geelong is seeking a Scheduling & Logistics Coordinator to join the Corio site. This hands-on role sits between customers, production and transport, coordinating the galvanising plant and the movement of materials and finished products.

You will balance deadlines, production needs and transport availability, arranging inbound/outbound freight, liaising with customers and logistics providers, and ensuring accurate records are kept to support on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience in scheduling, logistics, or production planning.
• Experience in manufacturing or fast-moving environments preferred.
• Degree or study in Business Administration, Logistics or Supply Chain is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule work through the galvanising plant.
• Plan inbound and outbound freight movements.
• Liaise with customers regarding bookings, deadlines and delivery requirements.
• Coordinate drivers, carriers and external logistics providers.
• Organise the movement, storage and distribution of materials and finished products.

• Prepare quotations and maintain accurate job and customer records.

J. Furphy & Sons is a long-established Australian manufacturing business with operations spanning galvanising, steel fabrication and protective coatings. An opportunity is now available for a Scheduling & Logistics Coordinator to join the Geelong operation in Corio.

This is a hands-on coordination role sitting between customers, production and transport. You'll be responsible for scheduling work through the galvanising plant while coordinating the movement of materials and finished products into and out of the site.

For someone who enjoys working in a busy operational environment, this role offers plenty of variety. You'll be balancing customer deadlines, production requirements, transport availability and changing priorities throughout the day.

The role

Working closely with the Scheduling & Logistics Manager, production teams and customers, your responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating and scheduling work through the galvanising plant
• Planning inbound and outbound freight movements
• Liaising with customers regarding bookings, deadlines and delivery requirements
• Coordinating drivers, carriers and external logistics providers
• Organising the movement, storage and distribution of materials and finished products

The position becomes an important link between the customer and the plant, with responsibility for keeping work and information moving efficiently.

About you

We're interested in hearing from candidates with experience across scheduling, logistics, transport coordination, production planning or operational administration.

Experience within manufacturing, steel, construction, transport or another fast-moving operational environment would be particularly relevant, although direct galvanising experience isn't essential.

You'll ideally bring

• Strong organisation and the ability to manage competing priorities
• Experience coordinating schedules, transport or operational workflows
• Confident communication with customers, drivers and internal teams
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to react when plans change
• Good attention to detail and administrative accuracy
• Competency with Microsoft Office and business/logistics systems
• A practical, commercially minded approach to transport and scheduling
• The ability to work effectively across both office and production environments

Qualifications in Business Administration, Logistics or Supply Chain Management are advantageous, although Furphy is also open to someone willing to undertake relevant study.
