Job summary

J. Furphy & Sons in Geelong is seeking a Scheduling & Logistics Coordinator to join the Corio site. This hands-on role sits between customers, production and transport, coordinating the galvanising plant and the movement of materials and finished products.

You will balance deadlines, production needs and transport availability, arranging inbound/outbound freight, liaising with customers and logistics providers, and ensuring accurate records are kept to support on-time delivery.

Qualifications

Experience in scheduling, logistics, or production planning.
Experience in manufacturing or fast-moving environments preferred.
Degree or study in Business Administration, Logistics or Supply Chain is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and schedule work through the galvanising plant.
Plan inbound and outbound freight movements.
Liaise with customers regarding bookings, deadlines and delivery requirements.
Coordinate drivers, carriers and external logistics providers.
Organise the movement, storage and distribution of materials and finished products.
Coordinate loading and unloading of structural steel of varying sizes and weights.
Prioritise work according to customer deadlines and operational requirements.
Monitor transport movements and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
Prepare quotations and maintain accurate job and customer records.
Resolve scheduling, transport and customer issues as they arise.
Work closely with production to ensure customer commitments can be achieved.
