Job summary

Randstad is seeking an experienced Branch Manager to lead our Ballarat HVAC branch. You will own branch performance, drive revenue growth, manage inventory and P&L, and deliver outstanding service to HVAC contractors and builders.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will supervise a small on-site team, implement sales plans, and ensure compliance with WHS and quality standards in a fast-paced trade wholesale environment.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification (HVAC, Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, or Mechanical Services) OR a qualification in Business/Management.
• Experience in branch, operations, or sales management within a trade wholesale, HVAC, or distribution environment.
• Strong team management capabilities in a fast-paced operational setting.
• Strong financial literacy with experience in margin management, expenditure control, budgeting, and quoting.
• Solid understanding of HVAC systems, components, and trade customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, order processing, dispatch, receiving, and inventory control to ensure high presentation and operational efficiency.
• Execute branch sales plans, manage key contractor accounts, prepare quotes, and actively prospect for new customers and commercial projects.
• Conduct client sales calls/visits.
• Manage branch P&L performance, control operating expenditure within budget targets, monitor margins, and assist with credit processes.
• Supervise, mentor, and coach onsite staff while fostering a safe, high‑performance team environment.
• Champion WHS protocols, ensure quality assurance standards are met, and lead annual stocktakes within accuracy targets.

What We Are Looking For

• Qualifications: Trade qualification (HVAC, Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, or Mechanical Services) OR a qualification in Business/Management (equivalent industry experience highly valued).

• Experience: Proven track record in branch, operations, or sales management within a trade wholesale, HVAC, or distribution environment.

• Leadership Skills: Strong team management capabilities in a fast‑paced operational setting.
