Job summary

IKEA is seeking a part-time Sales Co-worker for the Self Serve Warehouse & Outdoor department in Sydney (Rhodes). You will assist customers, manage stock, and support daily store operations in a physically active retail setting.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience in retail or similar environment.
• Able to work in rotating roster including weekends and public holidays.
• Physically able to stand for up to 8 hours and move stock with assisting equipment.
• Willingness to work in Self Serve Warehouse & Outdoor department.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers by understanding needs and selling IKEA range.
• Prepare, replenish and condense stock to ensure availability and presentation.
• Move pallets and stock safely using lifting techniques and mechanical aids.
• Maintain Outdoor and Self Serve Warehouse areas, safe and organized for sale.
• Process customer returns and restock saleable items.

Additional Information:

• This role is Permanent Part-time 50hrs/fortnight
• The internal job title for this role is Sales Co-worker
• As our store operates 7 days per week, you must have the availability to work a rotating roster with a mix of day and evening shifts. You also have the availability to work 3 out of 4 weekends in a month (both Saturday and Sunday).
• This role requires availability to work store operating hours as listed below.

• Sunday to Wednesday 8:00am to 8:00pm
• Thursday to Saturday 8:00am to 9:30pm

Who you are

As a Sales Co-worker in our Self Serve Warehouse & Outdoor department, you enjoy a role that combines customer service, active selling, stock handling and daily operational tasks. You are comfortable working in a physically active retail environment, helping customers with their purchases while ensuring stock is available, organised and ready for sale.

• Previous experience in customer service, retail sales, warehousing, logistics, trade, hardware or other physically active environments.
• Passionate about creating a positive customer experience and helping customers find the right products and services.
• Confident engaging with customers, preparing delivery orders and actively selling IKEA products and services.
• Physically capable of repetitive manual handling, able to stand for up to 8-hours per-shift and walk approximately 15,000 and moving stock using mechanical aids.
• Comfortable using computers, handheld devices and digital systems to complete daily operational tasks.
• A strong team player who can work independently while contributing to a collaborative environment.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain safe, organised and well-stocked sales and warehouse areas.
• Interested in developing your retail career, with the ambition to take on additional responsibilities and future leadership opportunities.

About this work area

As Sales Co-worker in the Self Serve Warehouse & Outdoor department, your responsibilities will include:

• Serving customers by understanding their needs, providing product advice, supporting delivery orders and actively selling the IKEA range.
• Preparing, replenishing and condensing stock to ensure products are available and presented correctly for customers.
• Moving pallets and handling stock safely using approved lifting techniques and mechanical aids.
• Maintaining the Outdoor and Self Serve Warehouse areas to ensure they are safe, tidy, fully stocked and ready for trade.
• Processing customer returns, checking for damages and returning saleable products to stock.
• Work closely with your team and other departments to build an inclusive, collaborative environment.
