Job summary

IKEA Canberra is seeking a friendly, part-time Sales Co-worker to create an inspiring shopping experience. You will engage customers, understand their needs and promote the IKEA range while performing store tasks and maintaining displays.

The role operates on a rotating roster from 9:00am to 8:30pm, across weekends, with a comprehensive benefits package including leave, discounts and health support. Previous retail experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Refresh displays and manage stock condensation; replenishment as needed.
  • Assist with order placement using IKEA systems and support teammates.

Additional information
  • This role is Permanent Part-time (40hrs/fortnight)
  • You will work on a rotating roster between 9:00am - 8:30pm, and 3 out of 4 weekends (both Saturday and Sunday).
Recruitment process

About this work area

As a Sales Co-worker, you'll help create an inspiring and seamless shopping experience for our customers. You'll combine customer interaction with hands-on store tasks.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Approaching customers, understanding their needs, and recommending suitable home furnishing solutions.
  • Actively selling the IKEA range and promoting services to enhance the customer experience.
  • Keeping your area clean, well-stocked, organised and correctly priced.
  • Maintaining and refreshing displays through basic visual merchandising and stock condensing.
  • Replenishing stock and preparing sales spaces using safe manual handling techniques.
  • Assembling products to ensure strong presentation and functionality.
  • Using IKEA systems to provide accurate product information and support order placement.
  • Working collaboratively with your team and other departments to deliver great results.

You're friendly, proactive, and enjoy working with people. You take pride in delivering great results, bring a positive attitude to everything you do, and are comfortable balancing customer service with hands-on responsibilities. You'll thrive in this role if you have:

Preferred experience
  • Previous experience in retail, customer service, or showroom sales.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
  • Confidence in supporting sales objectives and contributing to the achievement of targets and KPIs.
