Job summary

IKEA Australia in Canberra is seeking a Sales Co-worker to help create a welcoming shopping experience. You will combine friendly customer service with hands-on store tasks, contributing to sales and display upkeep.

The role is permanent part-time (40hrs/fortnight), with a rotating roster. You’ll benefit from paid leave, family leave, staff discounts, employee assistance and a supportive team culture that values inclusion and development.

Qualifications

  • Experience in retail, customer service, or showroom sales.
  • Good communication, friendly approach, and ability to work with customers.

Responsibilities

  • Approaching customers, understanding their needs, and recommending suitable home furnishings.
  • Actively selling the IKEA range and promoting services to enhance the customer experience.
  • Keeping your area clean, well-stocked, organised and correctly priced.
  • Maintaining and refreshing displays through basic visual merchandising and stock condensing.
  • Replenishing stock and preparing sales spaces using safe manual handling techniques.
  • Assembling products to ensure strong presentation and functionality.
  • Using IKEA systems to provide accurate product information and support order placement.
  • Working collaboratively with your team and other departments to deliver great results.

Additional information
  • This role is Permanent Part-time (40hrs/fortnight)
  • You will work on a rotating roster between 9:00am - 8:30pm, and 3 out of 4 weekends (both Saturday and Sunday).
Recruitment process
