Job summary

IKEA Australia is seeking a Kitchen Sales Representative in Sydney to help customers design dream kitchens by blending sales, design and consultation for tailored solutions and an exceptional shopping experience.

You will plan kitchens with IKEA's planning tools, guide customers from initial conversation to purchase, and contribute to a welcoming, fast-paced team focused on service and design excellence.

Qualifications

  • Experienced in sales, customer service, kitchen design, interior design, furniture retail or a similar customer-focused environment.
  • A confident communicator who enjoys building relationships and finding solutions for customers.
  • Passionate about achieving sales results while delivering excellent service.
  • Organised, detail-oriented and comfortable managing multiple customer projects.
  • Confident using digital tools and eager to learn new systems.
  • Interested in home furnishing, design trends and creating functional spaces.
  • Proficient computer skills and a willingness to learn the technical aspects of the IKEA range and digital planning tools.
  • Motivated to work in a fast-paced retail environment where no two days are the same.

  • Engage proactively with customers to understand needs and recommend kitchen solutions.
  • Plan and design kitchens using IKEA's digital planning tools.
  • Build strong customer relationships through consultations, follow-up calls and ongoing support.
  • Actively promoting IKEA's kitchen products and services to achieve sales goals.
  • Delivering a seamless, first-time-right customer experience from planning through to purchase.
  • Staying up to date with product knowledge, kitchen trends and solutions to inspire customers.
  • Contributing to a welcoming, collaborative and commercially focused team environment.

Combining sales, design and customer consultation, you'll guide customers through their kitchen planning journey, providing expert advice and tailored solutions that meet their needs, lifestyle and budget. Using IKEA's kitchen planning tools, you'll create inspiring kitchen solutions while delivering an exceptional customer experience from first conversation through to purchase.


Key responsibilities (text)

  • $31.00 per hour base rate (Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 6:00pm)

  • $46.50 per hour Sunday rate (9:00am to 11:00pm), plus above-award pay and applicable penalty rates, including weekends and public holidays

Additional Information


  • Permanent, Part-time (60 hours/fortnight)

  • Internal job title is Sales Co-worker II

  • Rotating roster between 8:30am and 9:30pm on weekdays and weekends

  • Availability to work 3 out of every 4 weekends, including both Saturday and Sunday


Recruitment Process


  • Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a pre-recorded video interview

  • Selected candidates will then attend an in-person interview with the hiring team


October to January is one of IKEA's busiest trading periods. To support our customers during this time, we prefer co-workers not to plan holidays during these months and to maintain availability throughout the peak period.
