Job summary

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery or a related discipline.
• Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience as a Cook in a commercial kitchen.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation and commercial cooking techniques.
• Ability to maintain consistent food quality, portioning and presentation during busy service periods.
• Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and safe food-handling practices.
• Strong teamwork, communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced roadside hospitality environment.
• Only candidates currently residing in Australia will be shortlisted.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook roadhouse meals and takeaway items according to recipes.
• Inspect ingredients for freshness and quality.
• Regulate temperatures of grills, fryers, ovens and equipment.
• Portion and present meals to standards.
• Acquire dietary requirements and customer requests.
• Monitor ingredient usage and assist with daily food requirements.
• Store and rotate food in temperature-controlled storage.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations.
• Collaborate with kitchen and service staff to ensure efficient service.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and safety procedures at all times.
