Global Vision Recruitment on behalf of Nuv Jeralderie Pty Ltd T/A Serpentine Roadhouse is seeking a reliable Cook to prepare quality meals at our roadside kitchen on Loddon Valley Highway, Serpentine, VIC. The role is full-time, 38 hours per week, with a salary of $79,500 to $80,000 per annum plus 12% superannuation.

You will operate ovens, grills and other kitchen equipment, ensure food safety and quality, accommodate dietary needs, and may assist with menu planning.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in a commercial kitchen.
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques and equipment.

Nuv Jeralderie Pty Ltd T/A Serpentine Roadhouse is a roadside food stop located on the Loddon Valley Highway in Serpentine, Victoria. The business serves hot and cold meals, takeaway food and refreshments to local customers, travellers and passing motorists. We are seeking a reliable and experienced Cook to prepare quality meals and support the smooth operation of our kitchen.

Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Check the freshness, quality and suitability of ingredients before food preparation.
• Prepare and cook a range of meals, including burgers, hot meals and other takeaway items, according to the menu and established procedures.
• Operate ovens, grills, fryers and other kitchen equipment, ensuring appropriate cooking temperatures are maintained.
• Season and adjust dishes during cooking to ensure consistent flavour and quality.
• Portion and plate meals, adding appropriate sauces, gravies and garnishes while maintaining presentation standards.
• Store ingredients and prepared food safely in temperature-controlled facilities in accordance with food safety requirements.
• Prepare meals to accommodate special dietary requirements where needed.
• Assist with menu planning and estimate ingredient requirements to maintain adequate stock levels.
• Assist with guiding junior kitchen staff and apprentices to support efficient food preparation and service.

Qualification:

• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (preferred but not required)

Skills and Other Requirements:

The successful applicant should have:

• Minimum 1 year experience working in a commercial kitchen, preferably in a roadhouse, café or takeaway setting.
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment and food safety standards.
• The ability to work efficiently during busy service periods.
