Job summary

Zip Co Limited is seeking an experienced Risk and Compliance Manager in Sydney to partner with the business on enterprise risk, third party risk and regulatory compliance. You will mature risk frameworks, strengthen oversight and translate complex requirements into practical guidance for informed decision making.

You will influence leaders across Zip Australia, support governance forums, and help evolve policies and procedures while ensuring effective risk management and resilient operations.

Qualifications

• Significant experience across enterprise risk, operational risk or compliance within financial services, fintech or another highly regulated environment.
• Strong knowledge of risk governance, including risk committees, senior stakeholder engagement and regulatory interactions.
• Experience designing, implementing or operating enterprise risk or third party risk management frameworks.
• Practical knowledge of operational resilience, business continuity and crisis management.
• Strong understanding of risk and control concepts, regulatory expectations and modern risk practices.
• Experience conducting risk assessments and control reviews, plus incident, issue and risk reporting.
• Excellent analytical and written/verbal communication skills with senior stakeholders.
• Ability to operate independently, navigate ambiguity and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in finance, business, law or related discipline.
• A mindset that embraces AI and new tools to adapt, learn and grow.
• An understanding that risk management is part of every role, whether manager or individual contributor.

Responsibilities

• Provide Line 2 risk partnership across enterprise risk, compliance, governance and reporting.
• Analyse incidents, issues and complaints to identify trends and remediation actions.
• Oversee third party risk management governance, frameworks and implementation.
• Strengthen risk artefacts, policies, standards and oversight.
• Develop and monitor third party risk assessments and performance metrics.
• Translate evolving regulatory expectations into practical actions for the business.
• Support operational resilience activities including disruption tolerance and testing.
• Contribute to business continuity and crisis management frameworks.
• Advise first line teams on risk controls and business outcomes.
• Explore opportunities to apply AI and new tools to improve risk management.
