Job summary

Wattyl, part of the Hempel group, invites you to join our Southport Store as a Retail Sales Assistant in a permanent full-time position. You will engage with customers, handle sales accurately, assist with tinting and mixing, and help maintain stock and store presentation.

This role emphasizes great customer service, attention to detail, safe working practices, and a supportive team culture with on-the-job learning and progression opportunities. Unrestricted work rights in Australia required.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is required or highly desirable.
• Previous sales experience in retail is preferred.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Attend to customer queries and orders
• Process sales accurately (cash handling/EFTPOS)
• Assist in tinting and mixing of paint
• Stock takes, stock replenishment, unpacking and storing goods
• Use pallet jacks and walkie stackers for handling
• Maintain a clean, tidy store environment

We are on the lookout for an enthusiastic and energetic Retail Sales Assistant to join our Southport Store in a Permanent Full Time Position.

You will be provided with uniforms, training and paidABOVE award rates!

The opening hours are Monday to Friday (NO nights)

As the Retail Sales Assistant you will:

• Attend to customer queries and orders
• Process sales accurately (cash handling/EFTPOS)
• Assist in the tinting and mixing of paint
• Perform regular stock takes, stock replenishment, unpacking and storing or inward goods
• Using Pallet jacks, walkie stackers and other devices to assist with manual handling
• Help maintain a clean, tidy store environment

Do you have what we’re looking for?

• Great Customer Service Skills
• Sales experience, ideally within a retail background
• High attention to detail and a commitment to safe work practices
• This role is a physical position requiring manual handling up to 28kg and operating machinery as needed.
