Job summary

The Trident Fish and Grill in Lismore, NSW, is seeking a Retail Manager to lead daily operations of our busy seafood and grill house. Based at 181 Keen Street, you will uphold high service standards, manage a team, and drive sales, margins and stock control toward our business targets.

With 2–3 years in retail management (food hospitality preferred) and a Diploma in business/retail/hospitality management, you will recruit and train staff, prepare rosters, monitor performance, ensure food safety,

Job Description

The Trident Fish and Grill comes from a family seafood tradition dating back to 1984, and is known for freshly cooked seafood, quality and flavour. In 2024 we opened our Lismore store at 181 Keen Street, Lismore NSW 2480, bringing The Trident's well-known flavours to the Lismore community.

The store trades seven days a week and serves fresh seafood, grilled dishes, burgers and salads to a steady base of local and regional customers. Trident Lismore Pty Ltd t/a The Trident Fish and Grill is looking for an experienced Retail Manager to lead the Lismore store.

You will keep up the standard The Trident is known for and help the business grow. This is a full-time role with an annual salary of AUD 75,000 to AUD 85,000 plus superannuation, depending on experience.

You will run the store day-to-day, keep product quality consistent, maintain high service standards and lead a motivated team to meet business targets. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage staff rosters that balance labour costs with service quality across all trading periods.
• Monitor daily sales, margins and costs, prepare performance reports, and put strategies in place to meet revenue and profit targets.
• Oversee supplier relationships, purchasing and inventory control to keep stock accurate, fresh and cost-effective.
• Plan and carry out local marketing, promotions and in-store activities to build customer engagement and repeat visits.
• Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, WHS and store operating procedures.
• Handle customer feedback and complaints promptly and professionally to protect the brand's reputation.
• Work with the business owners and management to keep store operations aligned with business objectives and policies.
• Lead continuous improvement in efficiency, staff engagement and customer retention.

Skills and Experience Required

• A Diploma-level qualification in business, retail or hospitality management (Preferred)
• At least 2–3 years of experience as a Retail Manager or in a closely related role, preferably in food retail or hospitality
• Proven ability to manage budgets, rosters, stock and sales reporting
• Strong leadership, communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Food Safety Supervisor certificate (NSW), or willingness to obtain one
• Availability to work across a 7-day roster, including weekends and split shifts
• Able to work on-site at our Lismore store and willing to commute or relocate if needed
