Job summary

Mooloolah River Fisheries is located at the end of Parkyn Parade in the Port of Mooloolaba with a beautiful waterfront view.

MRF is a fully integrated operation with a Local Seafood Restaurant, Commercial Fishing Vessel Marina, Unloading Wharf, Commercial Diesel Supply, Cold Storage, Ice Making Plant, Retail Seafood Market, Local Hospitality Distribution, and National and International Wholesale and Seafood Processing Facilities. As the only company with a receiving and wharf facility in the area, we offer a unique opportunity to work directly with fresh, high-quality Seafood. Due to the continual growth of our organisation, we are currently seeking applications for a Retail Shift Supervisor to be based in Mooloolaba.

About The Role

Reporting to the Retail Operations Manager, this full-time permanent position ideally requires sound knowledge and experience in Foodservice, stock rotation and HACCP controls. The successful candidate will manage a small team to ensure premium customer standards are met. This would be a great opportunity for someone who is in a current Hospitality role/senior chef position that may be looking for a change of direction or a similar role elsewhere to step up in their career to supervisor. This is a dynamic, all-encompassing role within a collaborative, hands-on team. • Assist in Rostering: Create and manage staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for shifts
• Staff Management: Supervise and support Retail and delivery staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment
• Forecasting: Analyze demand and prepare forecasts for the next day?s production and preparation needs
• Production Meetings: Attend weekly production meetings to align on priorities, address challenges, and improve processes
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in retail or hospitality food service or a similar role within a fast-paced environment.
• Prior experience in the Seafood or Food service industry will be preferred.
• Previous experience as a Supervisor, Team Leader, or Senior Storeman is an advantage
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• A high level of attention to detail.
• An understanding of OH&S regulations & HACCP requirements.
• Available nights and weekends is essential
