Job summary

Ora Banda Mining in Western Australia seeks a senior Resource Development Geologist to lead brownfields projects, supervise geologists and field staff, and deliver high-quality resource data for internal customers.

You will drive JORC-ready resource outcomes, mentor the team, and ensure safety, OHSE standards, and sustainable drill-site practices across the operation. This role anchors the Drive to 300koz+ growth strategy.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualified Geologist with recent and relevant regional exploration experience (ideally 10+ years postgraduate).
  • Completion of statutory supervisor training with DMPE for adherence to Work Health and Safety Regulation requirements.
  • Strong leadership skills - ability to motivate geologists and field staff to achieving goals, foster high work quality and a winning team culture.
  • General geological experience including geological modelling, sampling techniques and reserve and resource estimation.
  • Lead the completion of accident and incident report forms as required in INX, and assign corrective actions.
  • Minimise environmental disturbance at drill sites by working closely with the Senior Field staff, coordinating regular audits to maintain the standards.
  • Continually improve the health, safety and environment standards, ensuring statutory compliance and adherence to our Mine Safety Management System by utilising OHSE tools and procedures.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with the earthworks contractor, site-based OHS team, and Environment Manager to ensure best-practice drill site preparation and rehabilitation.
  • Liaise with the Manager Resource Development and Exploration Manager on all matters relating to JV relationships, heritage surveys, liaison with Traditional Owners, to ensure industry-best practice sustainability

  • Lead and support a team of geologists and field staff to deliver high-quality resource data for key internal customers, including the Database Manager, Resource Geologists, Mine Planning and Mine Geology teams.
  • Provide guidance to the Resource Development site team across brownfields target generation, resource conversion, resource definition and resource extension programs.
  • Drive resource development outcomes that support JORC-reportable resources and the discovery of new mines as part of Ora Banda’s Drive to 300koz+ growth strategy.
  • Train, coach and develop the Resource Development team in the fundamentals of their roles to ensure consistent delivery of accurate, high-quality geological outputs.
  • Foster a collaborative team culture built on open peer review, constructive geological debate and knowledge sharing to strengthen technical capability.
  • Ensure on-the-job training is completed to upskill team members and maintain high technical standards across resource development activities.
  • Work closely with the statutory Exploration Manager to ensure alignment and consistency in safe work practices across the Resource Development team, Exploration team, earthworks contractors and drilling crews

The role

About you
