Job summary

Ora Banda Mining is seeking a Mining Engineer - Underground to support its growth in Western Australia. The role involves mine design, scheduling, ventilation surveys, short-term planning, and developing drill and blast designs to optimize production and safety.

You will work on site, require a mining engineering degree and at least 2 years' underground experience, with strong communication and familiarity with CAD tools.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of underground mining experience
• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or related discipline
• Understanding of relevant legislation and regulations
• Current WA C class driver’s licence
• Underground time completed (highly desirable)

Responsibilities

• Assist with mine designs, mining methods, equipment needs and recovery costs
• Undertake production scheduling activities
• Assist with ventilation surveys
• Undertake shortterm planning activities
• Develop drill and blast designs
• Examine mining methods and equipment to investigate opportunities to improve
• Monitor day to day mining operations against agreed plans and quality control standards
• Scope, create and implement site instructions as required
• Support the review of operating costs against budget
• Project work as required

The role

Applications are sought for the position of Mining Engineer - Underground.

• Assist with mine designs, mining methods, equipment needs and recovery costs

About you

To be considered for the role, you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or related discipline
• 2+ years’ experience in underground mining operations
• Understanding of relevant legislation and regulations
• Skilled in computer aided design software, and proficient in creating drill & blast designs
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Current WA C class driver’s licence.
• Underground time completed (highly desirable - not essential)
