Job summary

Ora Banda Mining Ltd is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to lead underground development and production at their operation in Western Australia. THE ROLE

Join a high-performing team driving operational excellence in underground mining. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Mining Engineer to lead the technical delivery of underground development and production activities. This is a pivotal role for a results-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

• Develop and implement optimal underground development and stope designs, mining methods, and equipment strategies to maximise efficiency and minimise costs.
• Prepare and maintain short- and long-term underground mine development and production schedules.
• Oversee the preparation and optimisation of drill and blast designs to ensure safe and effective outcomes.
• Plan and manage the mine dewatering system to support uninterrupted operations.
• Monitor daily mining activities to ensure alignment with operational plans and compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Provide technical expertise and support to improve underground mining processes and performance.
• Lead and mentor a team of mining engineers and technical professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and safety.
• Collaborate with production, geology, survey, drill and blast, and contractor teams to ensure seamless execution of mining plans.
• Drive innovation in mining methods and equipment utilisation to enhance productivity and reduce operational risk.
• Support capital project planning, budgeting, and implementation as required.
• Deliver engineering services and project work as directed by the Mining Manager or delegate.

ABOUT YOU

• Tertiary qualification in mining engineering or a related discipline.
• 5+ years’ experience in mining operations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strong leadership and team development capabilities.
• Current WA C-class driver’s licence.
• First Class Mine Managers Certificate (preferred).
• Understanding of relevant legislation and regulations.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
• Proficient in mine planning and scheduling software (Deswik - highly regarded).
