Job summary

Ora Banda Mining Ltd is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to lead cost analysis, budgeting and forecasting across WA operations. You will partner with site operations and finance to drive informed decision making and capital project reporting.

The role requires a tertiary business/commerce qualification and a CPA/CA, with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Pronto and Excel. A collaborative mindset and ability to handle confidential data are essential.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Business or Commerce is required.
• CPA/CA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
• Experience in the resources sector is highly valued.
• Proficient in Pronto and Excel.
• In-depth knowledge of Accounting Standards.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work with site operations and finance teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate analysis of department cost data to assist with operational expenditure decisions.
• Identify drivers of financial performance and work with operations to understand cost drivers.
• Assist department leads on business case justification for capital projects and reporting.
• Coordinate budgeting, quarterly forecasting and variance analysis processes.
• Prepare monthly journals and reviews.
• Review and enter financial planning and forecasting details and inputs.
• Validate inputs and develop quality budget and forecast plans with leads.
• Engage with stakeholders at all levels to enable cost management and performance analysis.
• Streamline and improve core finance processes and activities.
• Assist with ad-hoc queries from senior leadership.

The role

Applications are sought for the position of Senior Business Analyst. The responsibilities of this role will be:

• Provide accurate and transparent analysis of department cost data to assist with operational expenditure decisions
• Provide information regarding underlying drivers of financial performance, working with operations to ensure understanding of these cost drivers
• Assist department leads on business case justification for capital projects, and ongoing capital project reporting
• Coordinate and lead the budgeting, quarterly forecasting and variance analysis processes
• Prepare monthly journals and reviews
• Review and enter financial planning and forecasting details and inputs
• Validate inputs and work with the department leads to develop quality budget and forecast plans
• Actively engage with stakeholders at all levels externally & internally to enable efficient cost management and business performance analysis
• Streamline, automate and improve core finance processes and activities
• Assist with ad-hoc queries from the senior leadership team

About you

To be considered for the role, you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

• Tertiary Qualifications in Business, Commerce or equivalent
• Significant experience in a similar role within the resources industry
• Hold a CPA / CA
• Experience with various software including Pronto and Microsoft Office
• Detailed working knowledge of Accounting Standards
• Strong analytical & critical thinking skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong planning, organisational and prioritisation skills
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with stakeholders at all levels
• Experience in partnering with site operations to facilitate informed decision-making
• Demonstrated ability to use initiative to implement a continuous improvement approach to processes and systems
• Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Financial modelling for gold mining assets
