Job summary

BGIS is seeking Handy People to deliver general maintenance, minor repairs and facilities support across residential properties in South-East Metropolitan Melbourne. You will work under the LMRC Team Leader to complete preventative and corrective maintenance, ensuring safety, compliance and high-quality outcomes for tenants.

These are permanent full-time positions within a newly established team, requiring practical hands-on maintenance skills, strong customer service and the ability to travel

Qualifications

• Experience delivering general maintenance and repair work in building maintenance or facilities management.
• Practical maintenance, fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Solid understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence.
• Construction Induction Card (White Card) or ability to obtain one.
• Strong customer service and communication skills with tenants and stakeholders.
• Ability to organise work and manage changing priorities across multiple sites.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
• Basic computer and mobile tech skills to update work orders.
• Full working rights in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance in line with schedules and contractual requirements.
• Undertake general building repairs and minor maintenance across multiple trades.
• Complete assigned job orders safely, efficiently and to quality standards.
• Record works, materials used and job information in work management systems.
• Interpret schedules of rates, trade specs and maintenance standards.
• Build positive relationships with tenants, client reps and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with team members, supervisors and subcontractors to deliver services.
• Ensure all work meets safety, quality and compliance requirements.
• Support service levels, customer satisfaction and contract KPIs.
• Suggest ideas to improve maintenance delivery and property outcomes.
