Job summary

BGIS is seeking Handy People to deliver general maintenance, minor repairs and facilities support across residential properties throughout South-East Metropolitan Melbourne. Reporting to the LMRC Team Leader, you will perform preventative and corrective maintenance to keep properties safe and in good condition.

Qualifications

• Experience in general maintenance and repair work within building maintenance, facilities management or similar environment.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Solid understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence.
• Construction Induction Card (White Card) or ability to obtain one.
• Strong customer service and communication skills with tenants and stakeholders.
• Ability to manage changing priorities across multiple sites.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
• Basic computer and mobile tech skills to update work orders.
• Full working rights in Australia.
• Trade qualification or maintenance-related certification.
• Experience in residential building maintenance or community housing or facilities management.
• First Aid certification.
• Familiarity with work order management systems and Schedules of Rates.
• Training in facilities management, QA or environmental management

Responsibilities

• Complete preventative and corrective maintenance activities across residential properties.
• Undertake general building repairs and minor maintenance across multiple trade areas.
• Complete assigned job orders safely and to required quality standards.
• Record completed works, materials used and relevant job information in work management systems.
• Interpret and apply Schedules of Rates, trade specifications and maintenance standards.
• Build positive relationships with tenants, client representatives and other stakeholders.
• Collaborate with team members, supervisors and subcontractors to support service delivery.
• Ensure all work meets safety, quality and compliance requirements.
• Support service levels, customer satisfaction and contract KPIs.
• Contribute ideas to improve maintenance delivery and property outcomes.
