Job summary

Downer is partnering with Homes Victoria to deliver property maintenance services across Victoria. The Renter Liaison Officer will lead LMRC handypersons, coordinate renter communications and manage job orders to ensure safe, reliable maintenance outcomes for communities.

You will ensure accurate status updates, support access arrangements and uphold safety guidelines, while fostering respectful engagement with renters and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Background in building maintenance, facilities, construction or related field or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety obligations relevant to field maintenance.
• Current driver’s licence (mandatory).
• Experience supervising small operational crews delivering maintenance or service works.
• Ability to plan, sequence and coordinate daily work activities across a location or program of works.
• Proficiency with Works Management Systems and mobile tech for job status and records.

Downer is proud to partner with Homes Victoria to deliver property maintenance services that support safe, well-maintained social housing and stronger communities across Victoria. Together, we help ensure critical and infrastructure services are at their best when communities need them most.

We have an opportunity for a Renter Liaison Officer to join our Homes Victoria team. In this role, you will lead and coordinate Local Maintenance Repair Crew activities and act as the primary contact for renters at LMRC locations. Your work will contribute directly to respectful renter engagement and safe, reliable maintenance outcomes for Homes Victoria and the communities we serve.

What You'll Do

This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:

• Lead, supervise and coordinate LMRC handypersons undertaking non-licensed trade maintenance works, including daily task allocation, on-site supervision and quality oversight.
• Act as the primary point of contact for Renters at LMRC locations, coordinating communication, explaining planned works, arranging access and responding to questions or concerns in a respectful and professional manner.
• Coordinate LMRC activities in line with location-based schedules, bundling Priority, Normal and Extended Job Orders to maximise productivity and minimise repeat visits.
• Monitor completed LMRC works to ensure compliance with Job Order instructions, quality expectations and contractual requirements, and coordinate rectification where required.
• Maintain accurate job status updates and communication through the Works Management System, including recording access outcomes, completion details and supporting evidence.

What You'll Bring

• Qualification or background in building maintenance, facilities, construction, community services, customer service or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Demonstrated understanding of workplace health and safety obligations relevant to field-based maintenance activities.
• Current driver's licence (mandatory).
• Experience supervising or leading small operational crews delivering maintenance or service works.
• Ability to plan, sequence and coordinate daily work activities across a defined location or program of works.
• Competence in using Works Management Systems and mobile technology to maintain accurate job status, photos and completion records.
