Datacom is seeking a seasoned Mid-Level Structural Engineer with expertise in precast concrete to join a remote team serving global clients. Work from your home office on innovative projects in the building materials sector.
You'll design and review precast components, perform structural calculations, and contribute to NPD while mentoring junior engineers. This role emphasizes independent work, strong communication, and alignment with industry standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 4–6 years' experience in structural engineering with precast focus
- Proficiency in CAD software, SolidWorks preferred
- Strong understanding of concrete design principles and standards
- Experience with finite element analysis and BIM concepts
- Ability to manage small projects independently
- Excellent communication and remote-work capability
Responsibilities
- Design and develop precast concrete products
- Create and review detailed drawings and IFM documentation
- Contribute to New Product Development (NPD) from concept to implementation
- Perform advanced structural calculations for complex precast elements
- Collaborate with manufacturing to optimize design efficiency
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
- Drive process improvements and best practices
