Job summary

The Original PC Doctor is seeking remote internet and modem support technicians to assist customers across Australia from home, via phone and remotely. You’ll diagnose connectivity issues, configure modems/routers, and guide clients through NBN types, DNS and Wi‑Fi setups while coordinating any onsite visits when needed.

Ideal candidates have solid home networking knowledge, patient communication skills, and experience in ISP or IT support.

Qualifications

• Solid knowledge of home/SMB networking — modems, routers, Wi‑Fi and the NBN.
• Understanding of IP basics, DNS, port forwarding and common connection types.
• Confidence guiding customers through router admin pages and remote tools.
• Excellent phone manner and clear written communication.
• Patience and real empathy — many of our customers aren’t tech‑savvy.
• A reliable home internet connection and a quiet space to take calls.
• Previous ISP support, networking or IT support experience is a plus (attitude matters most).

Responsibilities

• Take customer calls and support requests with a calm, helpful manner.
• Diagnose internet drop‑outs, slow speeds and Wi‑Fi coverage problems.
• Set up and configure modems and routers across the NBN connection types (FTTP, FTTN, HFC, Fixed Wireless).
• Sort Wi‑Fi channels, mesh systems, range extenders and dead‑spot issues.
• Walk customers through provider checks and isolating gear‑vs‑network faults.
• Log jobs accurately in our web‑based platform and follow up so the customer is genuinely sorted.
